Gangs have been a way of life for decades and while the culture may be different today living on the edge of society is still a mainstay for gang members. Weapons are still part of the package and violence and intimidation prevail. It wasnt so different for gangs organised and managed by the Krays or Richardsons both based in London or their peers. For a number of years young generations of gangs have been described in the press within inner cities as the new extended family but violence still persists. Many young gang members and other close associates face death through stabbings and shootings. This book takes a look at not only the gang culture that exists for youngsters today but how gangs operated in the 20th century.
